Hi all I am having the same symptoms since going off depo 9 weeks ago. I have been spotting erratically, and the last two weeks I have been sick to my stomach, craving everything I can get my hands on including food I don't like, very tender breasts. Well I thought I was pregnant and took a test, but it came back neg. Since the only time I could have gotten pregnant in the last 8 weeks was the last 2 weeks I thought maybe it wouldn't show up yet so I decided to take another one this friday. The thing is I don't want to be pregnant and went off depo because of the side effects, but because of other medical problems can't go on anything hormonal for awhile. We have been very careful, but you never know. I have read on other sites of women having these symptoms and never turning out to be pregnant. Is it normal to have symptoms of pregnancy after depo without actually being pregnant? It would really put my mind at ease if this is the case. If the test comes back neg friday I am calling the doc for a blood test. Because of the medical problems I mentioned I should not be pregnant either. It wouldn't be healthy for me or the baby yet.
Thanks for any input any one has.

I have been off depo for 1 month now and have the same symptoms but am not pregnant and haven't had sex since then so I am just assumming that it is the withdrawal. As a note, several years ago, before depo, I had these symptoms in addition to abdominal pain. My dr just knew I was pregnant because smells even made me vomit. I wasn't. I had a severe infection and didn't know it (no other symptoms than above). So you CAN have pregnancy symptoms and not be pregnant. |

Hi Everyone
I haven't been here for quite some time now, but i have hope for all you ladies out there, if you read back to my posts you will see what i was going through. I decided to take a capsule called Evening Primrose oil, my period came in 2 weeks from when i started taking it. I have now had a period every month for about 6 months not and am TTC.
Have faith because its will be okay, your body just needs time to work through the poison.
Take Care and if anyone needs any help feel free to ask.

Hi, I am Jen. My last shot was September 02 and My body has been wacked out since then. I had a period in December, 4 in January, and one February 15th. I had two days of extremely light spotting on March 10th and 11th but nothing since. I also have gone through all of the "classic" pregnancy symptoms (no period, tender breasts, moodyness, tiredness) starting late December. I also am now practicing Fertility awareness (where I chart my temp and cervical fluid) so that I can maximize my chances of getting pregnant if I am not now. Tests have all been negative so far, but I think that it is really odd that I had periods and now have not for 6.5 weeks. Any advice or suggestions? |

My last shot was in August 2002. I was on the shot for just under 4 years. Well I truely wish it hadn't looked so appealing! The thought of just not getting a period was way too nice to pass it up! So anyways, I have been off the shot for 8 months....still no period. I have been just about ready to kill my husband (we are newly weds) I have gained about 30 lbs since November. I am so cranky I very well could lose every friend I have ever had. And I stumble over this nice little website that brings every feeling I have been experiencing into perspective!
How long is it going to take to get me back to normal? My Doc put me on Tryciclin to try to kickstart ovulation, I'm on my 2nd month. I am really wanting to get pregnant soon (family health history says I have 3 years to be done with my Uterus) and so I want to go off of the pill and do this naturally. Since the pill hasn't helped yet...what do you all think?
Does the bladder thing feel like you could just sit there for days? I have gone for tests, both bladder infection and pregnancy and there is nothing wrong with me in that regard....
It almost feels as though I am going through a false pregnancy. Is that feeling shared?
Thanks everyone! _________________ God only gives us what he knows we can handle. |

| Hello everyone, i have just been reading what you all have written about your periods or lack there of. I too only received one shot of the depo provera, my mood swings were so off the wall that I decided not to take the second shot. I had what i think was a period that begain at the end of may and lasted for almost two weeks. I have yet to have another one yet. I am currently seeing someone and neither of us want more children. I have taken two home pregnancy tests, both coming out negative, but after reading some of your postings, i'm not so sure i can believe the results. i have an appointment with my family physician and i am going to ask for a blood test to be sure. am i pregnant or not?? the results seem to be mixed...should i be worrying that i am pregnant or should i believe the results of the home pregnancy tests?? any help on this would be greatly appreciated. |

I got my 1st depo in April 2001 and continued until October 2001. then I started again in July 2002 and stopped do to weight gain etc. I stopped having periods in July 2002 and had previously only had scant ones when it was time to get a new dose of depo.. I started having full regular periods in January 2003. Now it seems that I come on twice a month now ever since about every 14-16 days and my cycle lasts for about 4-7 days.. Does this sound familiar???

Does Anyone know from experience what herbs I can take to help purify my system of this poision we've all grown to hate?? I was on depo a few months shy of 5 years. As I've been coming off it, I too as many of you above have gone through a sort of "false Prenancy". I was due for my last depo injection on April 4th 2003. I oppted to get ortho tricyclin, but decided not to take them after all. So My system has been free of me adding chemicals to it for a little over three months now. I had what a guess I called a period for about 2 days the first month, But NOTHING since. I went through the nausea for about three weeks, it was Horrible!! I could smell things strongly, that others had a hard time smelling. I was TIRED ALL THE TIME. My Breast hurt....I didn't know what to think. My co-workers kept asking me 'are you sure you're not pregnant??' I had no answer. I took a pregnancy test....negative! I still had symptoms up until last week I noticed I felt alittle better. I'm still very tired but feeling better daily. I STILL have not had a period though and am begining to think I need to do something about this, Help my body get a jump start on healing... Does any know what I can take to Cleanse and get healthy again?? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you so much!!

| I am about a month away from being due for my next Depo shot. I called my doctor today wondering what kind of birth control I can take immediately proceeding the last shot I will not take. Lately I have started feeling extremely bloated and an unable to lose weight. For granted I am not by any means over weight but am at the top end of my scale. All the symptoms and problems all you wonderful women have been describing is frankly scaring the crap out of me. I am wanting to get on something immediately since I am unmarried and have had a baby four years ago and been on the shot for four and a half years. My daughter's father and I have been together all these years and he has yet to make a proposal of marriage so I don't really want to get knocked up again. Some of you have gotten pregnant quickly and other's haven't. I guess it depends on my chemical make up. I will be starting up school a couple of weeks after I am off the shop and not looking forward to having the listed side affects that I have seen posted on this site. Do any of you have any suggestions or words of encouragement for me as I get ready to "flush" the depo provera out of my system. If you also have any idea how soon I can start regular birth control like the new patch, just let me know. This is a really great site and look forward to getting on it when I really start having side affects of this dreadful stuff. Thanks for your help!!! |

| I went on depo about 4 years ago. I was on it for a year if even. The worst decision of my life. The only reason I did was I had alot of break through bleeding after I had my daughter, from being on the pill. It took over 2 years to get my periods back on track. I had all the sign every month. I can say for the last almost a year Im only a few days off, other than that I am on time. Well, my daughters going to be 6 in December, I have not been on any birth control since and guess what, still no baby. I can say I didnt think it was going to be this way. It sickens me and most importantly it sadens me. Has any of you being over, well over 4 years not pregnant yet? I dont see why or how we were not more educated on this drug before it was handed out, by the looks of the amount of users quiet alot. I say to all of you out there I feel your pain. God bless you all! |

I was just reading over the posted question and some replies about being pregnant or not, even when feeling like it. I had only 1 depo shot about 2 years ago and I had miserable affects. And lately a lot of the time, month after month, I feel just like I have to be pregnant, and then I am not. Again and again, nausea, dizzie, breast tenderness and even growth, etc. and then I get my period. So does anyone experience anything like that. Like I'm pregnant but not pregnant.
Thanks,
Ali |
