Loss of sex drive--please respond and give hope

I have been reading the postings for a while before registering and posting myself. I have searched for others experiences with loss of sex drive, but I haven't found the answers I am looking for.

I had taken Depo for a little over 6 years and stopped taking it in December 2003. As of today, my sex drive has not returned (it has now been a total of 1 year 7 months and still counting). Before taking Depo, my sex drive was literally more than my husband's!!

I really want to hear from others who have experienced a loss of sex drive, your experience, and how long did it take for your sex drive to return to normal? (whatever normal is for each individual person) Are you still waiting for your sex drive to return to normal? I am beginning to wonder if mine will ever return. I am just as frustrated as my husband is and feeling more and more hopeless everyday. Please respond.

Has no one experienced this as significantly as I have? Please respond with ANY comments, experiences or whatever. Surely I am not the only one, am I?

Hi asics

I am not an expert, but have you ever thought that your sex drive might be lower just with age, i mean you were on the shot for 5 years and are comparing your self with 5 years ago,

I have many frinds who have never taken the shot but say their sex drive just aint what it used to be and that they would really rather be left alone.

I don;t think we can totally blame the shot for this, our sex drive is not going to stay as it was when we were teens

My sex drive dissappeared with my bleeding during the time I was on depo.

However, until now (8 months later), I will still not initiate sex...but once I'm forced to participate (How pathetic

) I get on it!!! I mean before, I could not even get wet, but now at least I lubricate.

I attribute my loss of sex drive because of my hectic schedule. The difference pre and post depo is I do get wet now once sex is initiated.

Before Depo - it was all I thought about.
After Depo - I am married to a gorgeous man, 6'6, 11 years my younger... I'm 36... and have NO interest AT ALL.

It's been a year since I Stopped taking Depo. My poor husband has a complex. My sex drive disappeared with the second shot.

Do I blame Depo. Definately. From Extreme all the time... to nothing ever.... Not an age thing or coincidence!!!
