I did that with it also. I was on it for 10 years and gained a total of 90-95 pounds. I went off of it and starting losing weight. Then 4 months after that, my period came back and wouldn't quit, so my gyno put me on the pill to get my period back to regulated and now I am gaining weight again. This is my third month taking them now, and I have noticed that when it is time to take the green pills thru my period and I don't take them, I just skip them, I lose a couple of pounds in that week. I am beginning to hate birth control all the way around.

I started taking the depo shot in Sept 2002. I had a migraine every now and then but in April 2003 I stared having headaches daily with 1-2 migraines weekly. I had some small weight gain at first but then after my third shot more and more gain. My doctors always knew my birth control was the depo shot but never said anything bad about it or that it could be my problem. I kept going to the doctor with tiredness & fatigue and they check every possible. Every thing came back negative and I knew I was not making up the problems. I started in having problems sleeping and alot of back aches which the doctors give me sleeping pills and pain pills for the back. Between the antidepressants, pain pills, sleeping pills, and migraine meds I was always druged up. My husband said I looked like a zombie most of the time. I was always cranky with my kids and I always thought my antidepressants were not strong enough never realizing that it could have been my birth control shots. By the end of last year I had gained 50lbs, still having migraines, tireness, and then developed diabeties. My sister told me about her friend that was also taking the shot and had alot of weight gain so I decided to stop. The last one I took was March 2006. I recently stopped all the medications I could do without and feel better. I have not lost any weight yet and that is depressing, but I hope to get there (just don't know when?) If anyone could help please let me know.
